Patient Rights & Responsibilities
Good care is a partnership. Here is what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you and your family.
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Your rights as a patient
- To be treated with dignity, courtesy and respect, regardless of who you are.
- To have your condition, treatment options, expected duration and likely charges explained in a language you understand — Kannada, English or Telugu.
- To give informed consent before any procedure, and to refuse or withdraw consent.
- To privacy during examination and confidentiality of your medical information.
- To ask for a female attendant to be present during examination.
- To seek a second opinion and to receive a copy of your records and reports.
- To know the name and qualification of the doctor treating you.
- To transparent charges, an itemised bill, and clarity on pharmacy and laboratory costs before proceeding.
- To care free from discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, gender, language, disability or ability to pay for optional services.
- To raise a complaint and receive a reply.
Your responsibilities
- Share complete and accurate information about your symptoms, past illnesses, allergies and all medicines you are taking, including traditional or over-the-counter medicines.
- Follow the agreed treatment plan, complete prescribed courses, and attend follow-up visits.
- Tell us promptly if your symptoms worsen or if a medicine causes a reaction.
- Keep appointments, or inform us early if you cannot attend so the slot can be offered to another patient.
- Treat our doctors, nurses, pharmacy and laboratory staff and other patients with respect.
- Settle consultation, pharmacy, laboratory and admission charges as agreed.
- Do not offer or accept any payment outside the clinic's official billing.
Ward and visitor norms
- One attendant may stay with an admitted patient; additional visitors are requested to visit during visiting hours.
- Please keep noise low so that other patients can rest.
- Do not photograph or record other patients, staff or ward areas.
- Do not bring outside medicines or food for an admitted patient without informing the nursing staff.
- Follow hand hygiene instructions, and please avoid visiting if you have fever, cough or cold.
Consent and refusal
Before a procedure, admission or a test that carries risk, our staff will explain what is involved and ask for your consent. You may decline. If you refuse advised treatment or wish to leave against medical advice, we will record this and explain the possible consequences so your decision is an informed one.
If something goes wrong
If you feel your rights were not respected, please raise it with us — see our grievance redressal process. Raising a concern will never affect the care you receive.
